Real People/Real Places
As I mentioned, our people photography is becoming a much larger part of our work. Whether editorial, annual report, or advertising, we put as much effort into each photograph of a person as we do into our architecture. When I was in photo school (back in the dark ages), I said I'd NEVER shoot people. I guess that proves you should never say never. Maybe once I matured I realized just how much fun those shoots can be. If a shoot isn't fun, or at the very least enjoyable, you aren't going to get the best from everyone on the shoot. If you're not gettting the best from everyone on the shoot, you're not getting the best photograph you can. Everyone must check their egos at the door.
On a vast majority of the portraiture we shoot, we also act as Art Director. I feel very comfortable going into a situation "cold", and coming out with a number of images for the clients to choose from. We were also the Art Director on all of the images below, with the exception of the Regis shoot.
